Point Bar Resources, LLC (PBR) is a small water resource consulting firm providing innovative, cost effective, and ecologically sound solutions for private landowners, government, and the industry sector.
PBR specializes in geomorphic assessment and investigation, process-based river and wetland design, regulatory permitting, and applied restoration practices of rivers and their floodplains.
Geomorphic Assessment
At PBR, we focus on water resource problem solving by evaluating how collective human impacts and natural disturbances affect streams and wetlands spatially and temporally. Our understanding of landform/channel evolution and fluvial geomorphic process link the scientific fields of geology, biology, and engineering, and integrate the collective innovations of stakeholders working towards long-term watershed restoration goals.
Design & Construction
PBR approaches river/ floodplain and wetland habitat restoration projects by incorporating process-based geomorphic assessment practices to better understand how human induced and natural disturbances influence the larger river corridor and its aquatic resources.
We incorporate cutting-edge bioengineering, revegetation, and channel/bank stabilization techniques that aggregate local native materials with modern biodegradable and synthetic erosion control products.
Regulatory Permitting
PBR will determine if and what regulatory permit requirements exist for your individual location and project needs. Each state is different, but typically any work below the ‘ordinary high water” mark that affects waters or wetlands of the United States requires statutory permit application(s) from one or more county, state, and/or federal government agency.
